Lotty

Lotty is a sweet little mousie who just loves to snuggle!

She’s a pretty patchwork mouse about 7 1/2 inches tall with 3 1/2 inch sweet and floppy ears. She’s just the right size for little hands. Her ears, tail, and little limbs are wonderful for early grasping.
Lotty3

Lotty is made of a super soft wheat colored cotton velvet. She has pretty pink plaid cotton accents, to include a cute little knotted mouse tail.
Lotty2
Lotty has adorable handstitched cotton eyes, nose and smile. She also has a pretty little handstitched apple red wool heart full of love.

Lotty’s stuffing is weighted with double washed pebbles sewn securely into a muslin pouch in her tummy. This makes her slightly and very pleasingly heavy, and irresistible for little hands to hold and hug.

Lotty5

Lotty is completely child friendly, and would be the perfect friend for even the tiniest little one. Lotty would love to keep her little friend company at naptime, and she loves to jump into the diaper bag for on the go adventure and fun.

Lentil the Mouse4

Little Lentil is a soft brown cotton mousie! He gives a friendly smile, and a listening ear, and he loves to be held and hugged, and carried along on adventure.

Lentil is made of soft cotton knit and coordinating floral patchwork with pretty shades of mustard, sage, cranberry and rose. He has sweet handstitched eyes, nose and smile.

Lentil the Mouse2

Lentil also has a cute little handsewn cherry wool heart full of love, and a little patchwork tail with a knot at the end.

Lentil the Mouse5

He is completely child friendly, and has pleasing contrast in color and pattern, very interesting to babies.

Lentil’s stuffing is weighted with a few double washed pebbles securely sewn into a muslin pouch in his tummy to make him a little heavy, and pleasing for little hands to hold and carry.

Lentil the Mouse3

Lentil is waldorf style. We love the open simplicity and homespun nature of Waldorf creations. They inspire imaginative play, and their little faces reflect the emotion of the child playing with them.

Lentil loves to snuggle, and he’s the perfect quiet little friend to take along in the carseat or in the diaper bag.

Lentil is safe and hypoallergenic, and would cheer up an isolette too!

He’s about 7 1/2 inches tall.

Lentil is made with high quality new and repurposed, natural and hypoallergenic materials-he’s beautiful and a responsible way to reuse lovely, “forgotten” fabrics~something we just love!

And handmade is the very best way to say “I love you”!

Hedgehog Toys on the Moor!

a hedgie in the pantry

We have some exciting new projects we just finished that we are so eager to share with you!

We’ve been wanting to make an extra special hedgehog toy for children and finally developed a pattern with a pocket so the hedgehog can roll into a ball!

Hedgie blonde2 Hedgie blonde3 Hedgie blonde4

Waldorf Hedgie Prototypeball

We made this set of hedgies out of the softest wool/angora blend we could find, and felted the “quills” for texture variation.

Not only is this hedgie a fun toy to roll into a ball, he is fun to toss too! He is just 8 inches tall, but he’s about 10 inches around-simply adorable and huggy, weighted just a little to make him feel slightly heavy, real feeling, and irresistible to hold.

New Waldorf Baby Animals on the Moor!

   Baby Rita5 Baby Rupert5

We’ve had some new waldorf  lambs and bunnies “born” this week, as well as one waldorf bear named Patter.

Jeffey

We love Waldorf style friends because their sweet faces are uncomplicated and open, friendly, inspiring imaginative play. Simple sweet faces tend to “reflect” the emotion that the child is feeling.

Baby Rita2

We love when our little ones come to us with their little Waldorf friends (our daughters have waldorf bears). They’ll say “Waffles is hungry” or “Wooby was mad at Caleb because he made him wrestle”. Its so cute!

Patter

We now have 2 “Baapy” lambs on the Moor:

Jeffey5

Ewey and Jeffey!

We also have two waldorf bunnies:

Baby Rita3 Rupert Rabbit4

Baby Rita and Baby Rupert-patterned after our collectible cotterpin jointed pair.

Our baby bunnies and Baapys are made with soft, huggable cotton. Their stuffing is weighted to give them that just right, slightly heavy, “real” feeling when held and carried.

The Baapy lambs have floppy ears, and the bunnies and Patter have floppy ears and arms that are just right for early grasping.

Our waldorf baby animals might be just the right gift for a preemie! They would make a safe, and cheery addition to the isolette, and can be used to prop baby in different sleeping positions. Patterns and easy to see contrasting faces will encourage interest during waking hours.

Jeffey3

Baby Rupert2

We made them to be easy to care for. If any of our waldorf animal friends gets soiled, simply place in a pillow case, wash with mild soap on gentle cycle, and dry in low heat, or air dry. Fluff to reshape if needed. Minor soilings need only to be spot cleaned with a cloth and mild soap/damp cloth.

Benjamin Bennington Woolbear-a gentle and practical sort of bear

Posted in bears, hand made | No Comments »

Benjamin Bennington Woolbear5

Benjamin Bennington Woolbear might be a young cub, but he’s full of ideas and innovations! He thinks of all kinds of helpful and thoughtful things. For instance, he shared with me that it’s always good to use a straw when the cup of milk is too big for little hands. He quietly suggests holding onto the bannister when the stairs are too tall to span with little legs. He also thinks its very wise to finish one’s green beans because dessert always follows close behind. Benjamin must go to a very special person who just needs a quiet, soft and practical sort of bear, for that is just the way he is.
Benjamin Bennington Woolbear
Benjamin Bennington Woolbear is 9 1/2 inches tall (6 1/2 inches sitting)

He’s made of wonderfully soft, repurposed cashmere/wool blend material.

He has lovely caramel colored suede accents.

He has a touch of dry lavender in his tummy for added sweetness.

He is also weighted with steel bbs deep within the stuffing of his tummy and feet to make him pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling when held and hugged.

Benjamin Bennington Woolbear3

He has button joints with beautiful, vintage metal buttons, whimsically mismatched to give him a unique and folksy appearance.
Benjamin Bennington Woolbear4
Benjamin’s sweet nose and smile are handstitched with black cotton floss.

Benjamin’s eyes are lovely amber tiger eye glass beads, and both his eyes and his joints are securely string tied.

Benjamin would make an endearing gift for someone you love, or add this sweet little bear to your own snuggle of extra special bear friends.

Benjamin Bennington Woolbear is individually made and has his own sweet look. He comes with a card dated and signed by the artist too.

We use natural fiber, new and repurposed, and hypoallergenic materials that we gently care for here on the Moor. Our desire is to make adorable bears like Benjamin a gift that is unique and handmade, something we’d love to give, and responsible too!

Benny Bear is looking for a Friend!

Posted in bears, hand made | No Comments »

benny

Benny Bear ate all his peanut butter waffles (with syrup also please) and dashed out to the swing set this morning to have some fun. He loves adventure, sweet treats, and most of all- hugs! But hold him tight when he rides the swings with you-he’s a little afraid of heights!

 benny2

Benny is a super soft, incredibly huggable waldorf style black bear cub. He’s 9 inches tall sitting, 12 ½ inches tall from head to toe. He’s made from repurposed (gently cared for here on the Moor) charcoal colored wool sweater material. It has just a touch of angora, just enough to make him irresistible to cuddle! Benny’s paw and ear linings and muzzle are made of equally soft and loveable chocolate brown cotton knit.

Benny is stuffed with soft, lofty, premium quality hypoallergenic polyester fiberfill so he can be washed in the washer ( tie him in a pillow case, wash in cool water, short wash, fluff to dry). He also has a few double washed pebbles deep within his tummy stuffing to make him pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling.

 benny4

Benny’s sweet face is hand stitched with black cotton floss and much love. He’s completely child friendly, and ready to be the best friend to even the littlest one.

benny5

Benny also has a cute little cranberry colored flannel heart hand stitched on his tummy to add even more to his folk art charm.

Benny would make a lovely, unique, handmade gift for someone you love, or make him the newest friend for your little one!

Benny is individually made like all the sweet bear friends here on the Moor, and will come with a card dated and signed by the Artist.

Meet Sarah and Ewey Shropshire!

Posted in hand made, sheep | No Comments »

sarah-and-ewey-shropshire1

We’ve made two new, adorable lambs here on the Craggy Moor this week!

sarah-shropshire4

Sarah Shropshire, (12 inches tall from head to hoof) is a cotter pin or “wobble” jointed sheep with a wonderful floppy, poseable nature so endearing in those old fashioned stuffed animal friends we remember and love. She is made of lambswool in a pretty cafe au lait color with deliecate varigated mocha and cream colors.  She is stuffed with our favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough steel bb’s to make her pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling.

sarah-shropshire5

Sarah’s ear linings and the bottoms of her hooves and lining of her cute little tail are country plaid homespun in warm autum tones that pair so nicely with her lambswool.

sarah-shropshire3

Sarah’s sweet face is handstitched with chocolate brown cotton floss. Her eyes are amber colored glass safety eyes.

And Meet Sarah’s lamb Ewey!

ewey-shropshire

Ewey Shropshire is 6 inches tall, with 4 inch long legs. She’s made of all the same beautiful fabrics that Sarah is. Ewey is button jointed, with beautiful flower shaped vintage metal buttons from our vintage button collection.  They have such a lovely yesterday feel and style, that pairs well with Ewey’s own old fashioned looks.

ewey-shropshire4

Ewey’s little face is handstitched with chocolate and mustard colored cotton floss and her  sweetly shining eyes are beautiful navy jet beads with subtle navy and medium blue highlights.

sarah-and-ewey-shropshire

Sarah and Ewey are such a cute pair, but they are also for sale individually.  They are collectibles, and though they are sewn securely, they are not suitable for children under the age of 12.

 ewey-shropshire5

Either of these sweet sheep would make a wonderful, unique handmade gift for someone you love, or add them to your own collectible treasures! Each lamb is individually made and one of a kind here on the Moor, and comes with a card dated and signed by the Artist.

Thank you so much for visiting!

christopher-rabbit

Hoppy and floppy, huggable and loveable, ready to tuck into bed, or go on adventures, Meet Christopher Rabbit!

He’s an adorable addition to the waldorf warren here on the Craggy Moor!
christopher-rabbit2
Christopher is 12 inches tall from head to foot. He’s made of thick, soft and smooth slate grey wool/cashmere blend material (repurposed and gently cared for here on the moor). There are hints of darker grey mixed into the slate that make the wool so appealing and fur like in its coloring.

christopher-rabbit3
He has wonderful “peek-a-boo” 6 1/2 inch over sized ears just right for holding onto and snuggling, or hiding his cute face for a fun game. He has charming “summer cherry” plaid cotton ear linings that coordinate very nicely with his fur.
christopher-rabbit4
His white cotton knit face is handstitched with cotton floss and much love. He even has a sweet, handstitched red flannel heart to match his ears.

Christopher Rabbit is stuffed with the Craggy Moor’s favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender (for snuggling and soothing) and just enough double washed pebbles deep within his tummy to add a pleasing heaviness and “real” feeling to him that little ones enjoy.

christopher-rabbit5

Christopher is completely child friendly, and he’s ready to be a new friend to a little one you love.
