So we were sitting around one Sunday evening and got to thinking “hey, I wonder if we can make a tiny mouse with joints like the bears?” (what else would we be thinking about on a Sunday evening? lol)
We did some planning, and some more thinking and a bit more planning, some trials, and little Joshua Robert was born-

Joshua Robert now lives here on the Moor. (Named by our 3 year old daughter-she comes up the the cutest names!) As soon as I made him I loved him so much! He fit right into the palm of my hand. We were so happy with Joshua Robert that we made a few more! Oh, and I made Joshua Robert my new personal assistant.

All calls will be directed to him.

Meet Maxwell, Fiona! Max and Fi found homes yesterday, as the first of our brand new line of 4 inch, 5 way jointed velveteen mousies.

Fiona Meadowmouse

Maxwell Mousington
I’m serious, these little mice are so nice to hold in hand. I’m so happy with the design. The velveteen makes them so soft,(and a bit furry feeling) and the bit of weight their joints give them feels very much like the weight of a real mouse.

Our mice are normally 8 inches tall, but these new sweethearts are just a bit over 4 inches.

We’ve been working hard on a set of joints small enough to make our small animals poseable like our larger animals are. We finally came up with a nice, reliable design.

We will be adding these little mice into our regular inventory, and custom orders are always welcome. Visit the Moor often, have your proverbial net handy and catch one for yourself! Be quick though, little mice skitter away fast!

When we lived in the city and our oldest daughter was 2 there was a pleasant little squirrel who decided to adopt our family and greet us each morning in our yard. I rembered how much fun it was to feed squirrels in my own childhood yard growing up, so we encouraged our new friend’s visits with tiny peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Our little daughter named her new found friend “Whirl the Squirrel” and delighted her with his visits for a long time.
When I found this beautiful fox fur collar attached to a sweater we were purchasing for another project-I was immediately called back to memories of our dear Whirl.
I started working on a cute little Craggy Squirrel and came up with this adorable pattern.

The pretty fox tail was just enough for one for us and one for you!
We had to make a “Whirl” to live here too of course!
We are so excited to share a little squirrel with you that means so much to us. Hurry over to our Etsy store because you know how squirrels are-they run away fast!

See you there!

Today Marla Maplemouse snuck onto the Moor and was adopted by one of our Craggy Friends who also adopted bears
Sandy and
Elena. I’m sure Marla will have many happy days with her new family.

Frasier Harington hopped onto the Moor today too! He’s extra special-made of a vintage oatmeal wool. He has a wonderfully folksy style

and a very special handspun wool tail!

He’s up for adoption, and would love to meet you!

Meanwhile, we are getting Tommy and Tillyanna Fieldmouse on their way today, they are headed to their new home with many hugs and best wishes.

Beau Bearsley was born over the weekend. Look at that sweet face! He was adopted a few hours after we posted this pic:

This was taken minutes after Beau was “born”. You can still see the sewing basket behind him!
Beau is waving goodbye, and getting ready to head to Canada with his friends
Baxter Bearsley and Blossom Meadowmouse
And as always we are very busy with more fun friends on the way. There is another very friendly bear who is looking forward to meeting you too! We’ll have more pictures soon!

Wilson Bearson stared out the window longingly. The cold winter wind had blown away the dusting of snow from the previous day. The pretty icy powder had retreated once more to dry green grasses. He sat back down to polish the runners of his little wooden sled. “It’s ok,” I told him, “The winter will come.” I pushed a tiny steaming cup his way. “Have a sip of cocoa….”

Wilson Bearson is a soft and beautiful chocolate brown velvet bear made from a wonderfully classic, vintage inspired pattern. He’s 11 inches tall (7 inches sitting).

Wilson’s accents are a classic cherry red flannel plaid, perfect because he loves the winter and loves to snuggle!
Wilson is stuffed with wool, and weighted to make him pleasingly heavy when held and hugged. Wilson is button jointed with lovely, vintage wood toggle buttons with a pretty basket weave texture and matching chocolate brown color.
Wilson’s sweet nose and smile are handstitched with cotton floss. His eyes are beautiful amber glass safety eyes.

Wilson loves to wear his soft, cream colored merino wool hat decorated with rustic, old fashioned jingle bell.
Wilson Bearson is one of a kind and individually made. He would make a wonderful gift for someone you love who loves handmade bears, or add him to your own treasures.
Wilson is made with much love, and is safe for anyone over the age of 3 (due to small parts).
Teddy bears are wonderful friends, so even if your little one is very small, Wilson would love to sit on a shelf in their room as a decoration until they get old enough to play.
Wilson Bearson is made with high quality new and repurposed, natural and hypoallergenic materials-he’s beautiful and a responsible way to reuse lovely, “forgotten” fabrics~something we just love!

And handmade is the very best way to say “I love you”!
Thank you for visiting!

Does anyone need a high spirited, incredibly loveable teddy bear with an incredible penchant for chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream? Grabel tries to be good, but we keep catching him in the freezer…he says its just because he likes the cold, but we know better!
Grabel Bainbridge is a wonderfully floppy polar teddy bear. He’s 10 inches tall, 6 inches sitting. He is made of a beautiful white and black cotton fleck repurposed sweater material that really gives him softness and personality. He has a buttery soft wheat colored suede muzzle, and lovely coordinating navy plaid cotton lining his paws and ears.

Grabel is button jointed with lovely, unfinished blonde wood buttons that match his muzzle nicely. His sweet nose and smile are handstitched with black cotton floss.

Grabel has shining navy blue cat’s eye bead eyes. We love the unique “moving” glint of a cat’s eye bead!
He has a velvet ribbon collar with a sweet little heartshaped swing tag that reads “handmade with love”.
Grabel’s stuffing is weighted to give him a delightful slightly heavy, “real” feel when held.

Grabel is so huggable, and he loves to pose in so many cute ways (he really is a ham when you get the camera out!)
He is wonderfully unique, individually made and one of a kind (all our bears here on the Moor have their own sweet look!). Grabel Bainbridge comes with a card with his birthday and artist signature. He would be perfect as a gift, or add him to your own snuggle of treasured friends.
Grabel is securely made with new and repurposed, hypoallergenic and natural materials, all gently cared for here on the Moor. He does have small parts, so please use your discretion when buying for the very young.

Handmade is the very best way to say I love you!
Thanks so much for visiting!

He sure is small, but he has a great big heart! Meet Eli Bearington! He’s just right to fit in a pocket and tag along on all kinds of adventures. At the end of the day he’s perfect to share a little snack (he promises not to take too big a bite-being a bear of very small size)

Eli is a modest but adorable 6 inches tall (4 inches sitting). He’s made of super soft, irresistibly huggable blue cotton velvet. His paw pads are a pretty, vintage inspired cotton plaid with stripes of mustard, plum and wheat.
His stuffing is weighted to make him delightfully heavy and “real” feeling when you hold him.
Eli’s eyes are shining, navy cat’s eye beads. His sweet nose and smile are handstitched with black cotton floss.

He’s button jointed with engraved, silver metal bead buttons at each joint. His collar is black suede with a sweet heart shaped charm that reads “handmade with love”.

Eli is individually handmade with much love. His materials are repurposed and brand new, natural and hypoallergenic. He comes with a card dated and signed by the artist.
He’d make a wonderful, unique gift for someone you love, or tuck him into your own special treasures.

Baxter Herringbone skipped onto the Moor looking for turnip greens, an adventure or two, enticed by the sweet smell of buttery cabbage (that’s the very best way to catch a herringbone hare you know!)
Baxter is 9 inches tall, and about 6 inches sitting. He’s made of a wonderfully textured, old fashioned herringbone wool suit coat material. His ears and paws are lined with a coordinating soft cotton plaid. The beautiful muted blues, mustards and tans of the plaid brings out the subtle, interwoven shades of grey and brown in Baxter’s tweedy fur so well. He’s full of vintage charm from his sweetly oversized ears to is adorable oversized feet.

Baxter’s stuffed with 100% brand new, hypoallergenic, premium quality, high loft polyfil, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough steel bb’s deep within his tummy and feet to make him pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling.

Baxter has a cute little face with creamy cotton knit accents and handstitched cotton nose and smile. His eyes are beautifully shining navy jet beads with subtle blue highlights.

Baxter’s limbs are string tied and button jointed with pretty white shell buttons. He even has a little cream colored, hand sewn wool yarn tail!
Baxter would love to come home and be a friend to someone you love. He’d make a wonderful gift, or add him to your own warren of unique handmade hares!
Baxter is securely sewn, but does contain small parts, so please use your own discretion when buying for the very young.
Baxter is individually made, and has his own sweet look, like all the hares here on the Moor. He will come with a card dated and signed by the Artist.

Hoppy and floppy, huggable and loveable, ready to tuck into bed, or go on adventures, Meet Christopher Rabbit!
He’s an adorable addition to the waldorf warren here on the Craggy Moor!

Christopher is 12 inches tall from head to foot. He’s made of thick, soft and smooth slate grey wool/cashmere blend material (repurposed and gently cared for here on the moor). There are hints of darker grey mixed into the slate that make the wool so appealing and fur like in its coloring.

He has wonderful “peek-a-boo” 6 1/2 inch over sized ears just right for holding onto and snuggling, or hiding his cute face for a fun game. He has charming “summer cherry” plaid cotton ear linings that coordinate very nicely with his fur.

His white cotton knit face is handstitched with cotton floss and much love. He even has a sweet, handstitched red flannel heart to match his ears.
Christopher Rabbit is stuffed with the Craggy Moor’s favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender (for snuggling and soothing) and just enough double washed pebbles deep within his tummy to add a pleasing heaviness and “real” feeling to him that little ones enjoy.

Christopher is completely child friendly, and he’s ready to be a new friend to a little one you love.

Another lamb is leaping onto the Moor!
Sweet and soft, sturdy and adventurous, romping in the setting sun, meet Bristol Lambswool! She’s full of the lovely late summer colors we’re seeing here on the Moor.

Bristol is 10 1/2 inches head to hoof, and 7 inches sitting.
She’s made of a beautiful cabled evergreen wool, super soft and wonderfully textured. Her head and hooves are a charming buttered caramel color corduroy coordinating very nicely in both feel and appearance to her pretty evergreen coat. We added some country plaid homespun to her feet and ear linings to further add to her adorable folk art appeal.
(Bristol’s fabrics are carefully chosen, repurposed all natural fibers cared for gently here on the Moor in a smoke free, pet fur free environment)

Bristol Lambswool is jointed with some of our favorite heavy, crested metal buttons from our vintage collection. Her eyes are swirled amber tiger’s eye glass beads.

Bristol’s sweet little nose and mouth are handstitched with 6 strand cotton floss.
She’s stuffed with the Craggy Moor’s favorite stuffing:
100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender and just enough steel bb’s deep within her stuffing to make her pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling in your hand.

Bristol Lambswool would make a lovely and unique gift for someone you love, or add her to your own flock of one of a kind lambs! Each of our lambs is individually made and has their own sweet look.
Bristol will come with a card dated and signed by the Artist too!
Bristol is securely made but does contain small parts, so please use your discretion when purchasing for the very young. She’s not intended for rough play.

Thank you so much for visiting!
