While I was working I heard a soft rustling behind me, and discovered a little bunny sitting on our counter (obviously waiting for a little friend’s return). I couldn’t resist taking a few quick pics of her.

Meet “James Jeff the Little Girl”

Our daughter Sylvia(age 3) belongs to James Jeff and they are great friends. When we gave the bunny to Sylvia we asked what she would like to name her. Sylvia thought and thought. Then she said “James Jeff!” Her brothers said “That’s a boy’s name!” To which she answered (looking at them as if they should have known this already)

“Well, she’s James Jeff the little girl”-and from that moment said bunny’s name just that way each time.

My personal opinion is that 3 year olds come up with the BEST names in the world

This little dose of extra-cuteness makes my day even sweeter :0)

Well, its time to get back to sewing and such. Have a great rest of the day!

We’ve been so busy here on the Moor, but we love busy! I’m a new bunny here on the Moor named “Rabbity”. Since I’m pretty new I get to play and have fun pretty much all the time. Since my schedule is pretty free at the moment, they asked me to do a guest posting today.

I’ll tell you a bit about myself. I was adopted by a little girl who lives here. I heard she had something wonderful called a birthday, and I was her gift! Now she and I go everywhere.

I’m a very happy Rabbity.

I like to sit with the family at dinnertime and talk to my little friend from the safety and comfort of the island in the kitchen

I’m made of wool with cotton patchwork in my ears and on my paws. I also have a bit of oatmeal felted wool on my muzzle. Other Rabbity’s like me might be made of other materials but I just know they’ll be cute like me. I’m wobble jointed and my knees and elbows have a bit of a bend in them. That makes it easy for me to sit and pose in some pretty cute ways. Ok, enough of the boring stuff.

I make myself available for any and all computer related questions anybear might have. I feel I’m rather versed on the subject of comptuers after having a long sit on the big bed for quite a few evenings as I was being completed. I listened very carefully…..

You might want to have a Rabbity around your house. We Rabbities are very helpful. I’m not sure what this brush is for, but Dad said he’d be right back to show me how to use it….

The other night I got to help make a tasty snack of raised orange glazed donuts (I was excited when I saw they were orange thinking they were carrot flavored, but they weren’t. Hey. Nothing’s perfect right? And they were still tasty.)

Well, I better get going. I have some errands to run (If I can get this thing to start…hey, where are the pedals?)

Look for more Rabbity’s like me to hop onto the Moor soon!

When we lived in the city and our oldest daughter was 2 there was a pleasant little squirrel who decided to adopt our family and greet us each morning in our yard. I rembered how much fun it was to feed squirrels in my own childhood yard growing up, so we encouraged our new friend’s visits with tiny peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Our little daughter named her new found friend “Whirl the Squirrel” and delighted her with his visits for a long time.

When I found this beautiful fox fur collar attached to a sweater we were purchasing for another project-I was immediately called back to memories of our dear Whirl.

I started working on a cute little Craggy Squirrel and came up with this adorable pattern.

The pretty fox tail was just enough for one for us and one for you!

We had to make a “Whirl” to live here too of course!

We are so excited to share a little squirrel with you that means so much to us. Hurry over to our Etsy store because you know how squirrels are-they run away fast!

See you there!

Little Jenny Scamperfoot is going to have tea with her dear friend Penelope Flowerseed today! Jenny puts on her favorite spring dress. She carefully combs her soft velvet fur. She pads softly to her little warren kitchen and prepares cool, crunchy cucumber sandwiches. Taking her market basket from a hook on the earthen wall, she wraps the sandwiches in one linen napkin, and her favorite tea cup in another. Humming a little tune to herself, she heads out the door. “We always have such nice teas together, Penelope and I-”

Jenny Scamperfoot is a sweet little velveteen Rabbit made of chocolate brown cotton velveteen. Her ears and paws are accented with a pretty contrasting pink plaid cotton. Her little muzzle is creamy white cotton.

Jenny is a petite 6 1/2 inches tall (not counting her ears), 5 inches sitting. She’s wearing a little handmade cotton jumper decorated with pink flowers and little bunnies that look hand drawn. It has a snap closure in the back, and at each strap in the front.

Jenny is button jointed with beautiful natural shell buttons. Her eyes are shining black glass beads and her sweet nose and smile are hand embroidered with cotton floss.

Jenny is weighted slightly to make her feel pleasantly heavy and “real” in your hand.

She’s an adorable addition to your collection because she’s one of a kind and individually made with much love. She would also make a charming gift or friend for someone you love over the age of 4 (due to small parts).

Thank you so much for visiting Jenny. We hope she is just the friend you’ve been looking for!

Handmade is the very best way to say I love you!

**We use natural fiber, new and repurposed materials that we gently care for here on the Moor. Our desire is to make adorable velveteen rabbits like Jenny a unique gift we’d love to give, and responsible too!

Eunie’s made of cotton fleece and coordinating cotton rib knit.(I love this cotton fleece! It’s hard to find, and we only see it once in a while). She has a bit of pink cotton flannel in her ears. She’s soft, cuddly and floppy. She’s also 5 way jointed and lots of fun to pose and take on adventures. We make our own hardwood and steel wobble joint assemblies so they’ll be strong and sturdy.

Bramble lived in the family pantry. His job was to stock and organize the shelves, sweep the floor, and sift the flours to keep them clean. He trundled along the floor pointing his nose into corners and crevices spying out choice buggy morsels. This was a great help and something he really enjoyed in the quiet watches of the night. As the sun came up he nodded sleepily as his family of people began their day, and grunted as the little girl lifted him into the warmth of her apron pocket. Here was his favorite place to take a nap…

Meet Bramble Thistlebatch, our very first button jointed hedgie! We just love hedgehogs, and we’ve been looking for a way to make a Craggy Hedgie for the Moor, and Bramble was born.

Bramble is 6 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches sitting. He’s made of heather grey wool, with wheat colored velvet paw pads.

He’s button jointed with our favorite natural hardwood buttons. His eyes are beautiful navy cat’s eye stone beads with a lovely, subtle sky blue glint.

Bramble’s stuffing is weighted to give him that nice, slightly heavy feel we love in a huggable, loveable friend. He has a touch of dry lavender inside too, to make him smell like the sweet fields he loves to trundle through.

Bramble is wearing a little glasz colored plaid vest (glasz is that beautiful color of the sea in Brittany-a mingle of grey, green and slate blue)

And Bramble’s best feature is his beautiful set of loopy wool “spikes”! They are hand crocheted with beautiful chocolate brown fisherman’s wool, and securely handstitched.

Bramble is lovingly made, and one of a kind. Each Craggy Hedgie is unique and will have his or her own sweet look.

Bramble would make a wonderful gift for someone you love, adopt him and add a sweet handmade hedgie to your own home!

Handmade is the very best way to say I love you!
Thank you for visiting!

**We use natural fiber, new and repurposed materials that we gently care for here on the Moor. Our desire is to make adorable hedgehogs like Bramble a gift that’s unique and handmade, and something we’d love to give, and responsible too!

We heard a rustling in the pantry early this morning, and the soft tink, tink of glass jars shifting. I peaked around the corner to find a velvet bear helping herself to the honey! A sheepish (or should I say bearish) grin, and two bright eyes shone back at me-Mabel Bearington had come to pay us a visit!

Mabel is an adorable, huggably soft, chocolate brown velvet bear. Her muzzle, ear linings and paw pads are a soft and beautiful caramel suede.

Mabel has lovely crested metal buttons at her joints that coordinate so nicely and give her a pleasing old fashioned look.

Mabel’s eyes are sweetly shining amber glass safety eyes, and her cute nose and smile are hand stitched with black cotton floss.

Mabel is stuffed with 100% brand new hypoallergenic, premium high loft polyfil, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough steel bb’s to give her a nice heft and a “real” feel.

Mabel’s 10 inches tall from head to foot, 7 inches sitting. She has a really nice firm, slightly heavy feel that will make you want to hug and hold her!

Mabel is a collectible, securely sewn, but has small parts so use your own discretion when buying for the very young.

She would make a wonderful, unique gift for someone you know, or add her to your own den of collectible bears. All our bears are individually made and one of a kind. Each one has their own sweet look.

Mabel will come with a card dated and signed by the Artist.
