Hi I’m Rabbity!

Posted in Bears About the House, bunnies, hand made | No Comments »

We’ve been so busy here on the Moor, but we love busy! I’m a new bunny here on the Moor named “Rabbity”. Since I’m pretty new I get to play and have fun pretty much all the time.  Since my schedule is pretty free at the moment, they asked me to do a guest posting today.

I’ll tell you a bit about myself. I was  adopted by a little girl who lives here. I heard she had something wonderful called a birthday, and I was her gift! Now she and I go everywhere.

I’m a very happy Rabbity.

I like to sit with the family at dinnertime and talk to my little friend from the safety and comfort of the island in the kitchen :)

I’m made of wool with cotton patchwork in my ears and on my paws. I also have a bit of oatmeal felted wool on my muzzle. Other Rabbity’s like me might be made of other materials but I just know they’ll be cute like me. I’m wobble jointed and my knees and elbows have a bit of a bend in them. That makes it easy for me to sit and pose in some pretty cute ways. Ok, enough of the boring stuff. :)

I make myself available for any and all computer related questions anybear might have. I feel I’m rather versed on the subject of comptuers after having a long sit on the big bed for quite a few evenings as I was being completed. I listened very carefully…..

You might want to have a Rabbity around your house. We Rabbities are very helpful. I’m not sure what this brush is for, but Dad said he’d be right back to show me how to use it….

The other night I  got to help make a tasty snack of raised orange glazed donuts (I was excited when I saw they were orange thinking they were carrot flavored, but they weren’t. Hey. Nothing’s perfect right? And they were still tasty.)

Well, I better get going. I have some errands to run (If I can get this thing to start…hey, where are the pedals?)

Look for more Rabbity’s like me to hop onto the Moor soon!

New Grey Velveteen Friends on the Moor

Posted in bunnies, hand made, other animal friends | No Comments »

We acquired some beautiful and soft grey cotton velveteen and just had to use it to make some friends over the weekend. I coudn’t decide which to do- bunny or mouse, so I did both! I really love how it feels, as well as the ease with which it sews!

Meet our new friends-up for adoption over at our Etsy Store:

This is Ashley Flowerseed! She’s a 6 1/2 inch tall wood button jointed mousie wearing her favorite white woodland cap. She has pretty pink and grey cotton patchwork in her ears and on her paws.

****************UPDATE: Ashley found a good home! Thank you so much!!*********************

And this is Parsley Bunting! He’s also 6 1/2 inches tall, and he’s wearing his country blue cotton overalls. He also has cotton patchwork accenting his long bunny ears, and his sweet bunny paws, in a pretty sage green, cream and grey cotton plaid.

Come meet our sweet new friends today!

Meet Little Jenny Scamperfoot!

Posted in bunnies, hand made | No Comments »

Jenny Scamperfoot

Little Jenny Scamperfoot is going to have tea with her dear friend Penelope Flowerseed today! Jenny puts on her favorite spring dress. She carefully combs her soft velvet fur. She pads softly to her little warren kitchen and prepares cool, crunchy cucumber sandwiches. Taking her market basket from a hook on the earthen wall, she wraps the sandwiches in one linen napkin, and her favorite tea cup in another. Humming a little tune to herself, she heads out the door. “We always have such nice teas together, Penelope and I-”

Jenny Scamperfoot5

Jenny Scamperfoot is a sweet little velveteen Rabbit made of chocolate brown cotton velveteen. Her ears and paws are accented with a pretty contrasting pink plaid cotton. Her little muzzle is creamy white cotton.

Jenny Scamperfoot6

Jenny is a petite 6 1/2 inches tall (not counting her ears), 5 inches sitting. She’s wearing a little handmade cotton jumper decorated with pink flowers and little bunnies that look hand drawn. It has a snap closure in the back, and at each strap in the front.

Jenny Scamperfoot4

Jenny is button jointed with beautiful natural shell buttons. Her eyes are shining black glass beads and her sweet nose and smile are hand embroidered with cotton floss.

Jenny Scamperfoot7

Jenny is weighted slightly to make her feel pleasantly heavy and “real” in your hand.

She’s an adorable addition to your collection because she’s one of a kind and individually made with much love. She would also make a charming gift or friend for someone you love over the age of 4 (due to small parts).

Thank you so much for visiting Jenny. We hope she is just the friend you’ve been looking for!

Jenny Scamperfoot3

Handmade is the very best way to say I love you!

**We use natural fiber, new and repurposed materials that we gently care for here on the Moor. Our desire is to make adorable velveteen rabbits like Jenny a unique gift we’d love to give, and responsible too!

Coney Meadowfoot knocked upon our door….

Posted in bunnies, hand made | No Comments »

Coney Meadowfoot2

Coney Meadowfoot darted across the Moor with Crazy Fox in quick persuit. Suddenly I heard a “Bambambam” on my front door and looked down to see Coney drumming frantically with a big bunny foot. I quickly let him in, and just in time too! Crazy Fox sneered in our direction and darted back into the wood. I comforted Coney with a cup of meadow tea and a crumpet.

Coney Meadowfoot
Coney Meadowfoot is full of old fashioned charm. He’s  a 9 inch tall, chocolate brown cable knit bunny. He has wonderfully long 5 inch ears. His ears have a pad of wool felt inside to make them stand up. You can also adjust them in different cute ways.

Coney Meadowfoot4
Coney is cotton, with folksy wheat flannel plaid accents detailed with tiny lines of chocolate and evergreen. He’s incredibly huggy and warm and soft. His little muzzle is soft wheat colored velvet.

Coney even has a real cottontail made of snowy white cotton yarn.

Coney Meadowfoot5

Coney’s stuffing is weighted to make him slightly heavy and “real” feeling when held. He’s button jointed with beautiful, natural hardwood buttons.

Coney’s pretty eyes are shining black cat’s eye beads with navy highlights. His sweet nose and smile are handstitched with cotton floss.
Coney Meadowfoot3
Coney would make a wonderful gift for anyone over the age of 3,or add him to a nursery for an adorable decoration! He said he’d be happy to wait patiently until his little friend is old enough to play. (as long as there are no foxes :0)

Coney would also love to come home and be your friend too! He’s individually made like all the sweet hares here on the Moor. He’ll come with a card dated and signed by the Artist.

Coney Meadowfoot is made with high quality new and repurposed, natural and hypoallergenic materials-he’s beautiful and a responsible way to reuse lovely, “forgotten” fabrics~something we just love!

And handmade is the very best way to say “I love you”!
Thank you for visiting!

Hickory Scamperfoot Hickory Scamperfoot is a sweet Storybook Hare that we made as a swap for this beautiful toy

Wood Stacker, Maple and Ipe (Brazilian Hardwood) from Ticki Tacki Toys

Marty Monkton You know Monkeys don’t hang around long, and Marty Monkton is not exception. He left yesterday too!

Bentley Bearington Bentley is an adorable wool and suede bear custom made for a little boy in Michigan. He wanted to take his mohair scarf along because he heard Michigan can get quite chilly in wintertime.

Wilfred Bearingham4 Wilfred Bearingham is also another very pleasant and well mannered bear custom made, and headed to his new home.

Patter2 Patter was adopted this week too! He can’t wait to be a good friend to someone very sweet and special.

Rita Rabbit Rita was adopted too (Rufus said he’d miss her so but he understands)Rupert Rabbit4

chelsea fieldmouse And Chelsea Fieldmouse was born today and was adopted today too! She’s going to live with our friend Mabel.  oops! Looks like Mabel adopted Chelsea when no one was home hee hee! It’s ok, Chelsea doesn’t eat much.

New Waldorf Baby Animals on the Moor!

Posted in bears, bunnies, hand made, sheep | No Comments »

   Baby Rita5 Baby Rupert5

We’ve had some new waldorf  lambs and bunnies “born” this week, as well as one waldorf bear named Patter.

Jeffey

We love Waldorf style friends because their sweet faces are uncomplicated and open, friendly, inspiring imaginative play. Simple sweet faces tend to “reflect” the emotion that the child is feeling.

Baby Rita2

We love when our little ones come to us with their little Waldorf friends (our daughters have waldorf bears). They’ll say “Waffles is hungry” or “Wooby was mad at Caleb because he made him wrestle”. Its so cute!

Patter

We now have 2 “Baapy” lambs on the Moor:

Jeffey5

Ewey and Jeffey!

We also have two waldorf bunnies:

Baby Rita3 Rupert Rabbit4

Baby Rita and Baby Rupert-patterned after our collectible cotterpin jointed pair.

Our baby bunnies and Baapys are made with soft, huggable cotton. Their stuffing is weighted to give them that just right, slightly heavy, “real” feeling when held and carried.

The Baapy lambs have floppy ears, and the bunnies and Patter have floppy ears and arms that are just right for early grasping.

Our waldorf baby animals might be just the right gift for a preemie! They would make a safe, and cheery addition to the isolette, and can be used to prop baby in different sleeping positions. Patterns and easy to see contrasting faces will encourage interest during waking hours.

Jeffey3

Baby Rupert2

We made them to be easy to care for. If any of our waldorf animal friends gets soiled, simply place in a pillow case, wash with mild soap on gentle cycle, and dry in low heat, or air dry. Fluff to reshape if needed. Minor soilings need only to be spot cleaned with a cloth and mild soap/damp cloth.

Stop by the Craggy Moor to learn more, and adopt one today!

Rupert Rabbit3

Rupert Rabbit  joined his sister Rita today on the Moor. They are a very sweet, huggable, poseable pair.  As soon as Rupert was finished both patchwork hares jumped up and down on my bed, and then scampered away to have some fun…haven’t seen them since lol! If you adopt one or both of these sweethearts, you’ll have your hands full!
