New on the Moor! Educational Hardwood Tile Games!

Posted in hand made | No Comments »

We are also very excited to be able to offer two fun and natural Hardwood Tile Games

Natural Alphanumeric set Our Natural Alpha Numeric Set features 36  2 inch hardwood tiles, hand sanded and finished with our wonderful smelling beeswax wood cream. The tiles are so smooth, and make such a nice clinking sound when played with, and smell slighly sweet. The beeswax we use is processed at a low temperature to retain its natural quality and scent. We just love it!

Natural Alphanumeric set2 You can use the letter tiles to match capital and lower case letters with your pre-reader.Natural Alphanumeric set6

Natural Alphanumeric set4 Our number tiles can be used to learn early counting and number recognition, and combine them to learn higher numbers too!

Memory Game This is our Memory tile game. Young children just love playing memory, and this set is made to last so your children can play with their children someday. Each tile is lovingly hand sanded, hand stamped and rubbed with our beeswax wood cream. Little children love starting with a few pairs and working their way up to the full set of 12 pairs as their memory increases.

Learning games are great ways to spend a few minutes doing something enjoyable and educational with your little one-something we hold dear here. The tiles are simple, vintage inspired toys that are gratifying to little minds and hands.

Memory Game3

Games like our educational Hardwood Tiles inspire the creation of other games as little ones play-from simple stacking to anything they can imagine! Our tiles here are used for anything from memory games, to trading games. They have even become cookies at a tea party! :0)

Hedgehog Toys on the Moor!

a hedgie in the pantry

We have some exciting new projects we just finished that we are so eager to share with you!

We’ve been wanting to make an extra special hedgehog toy for children and finally developed a pattern with a pocket so the hedgehog can roll into a ball!

Waldorf Hedgie Prototypeball

We made this set of hedgies out of the softest wool/angora blend we could find, and felted the “quills” for texture variation.

Not only is this hedgie a fun toy to roll into a ball, he is fun to toss too! He is just 8 inches tall, but he’s about 10 inches around-simply adorable and huggy, weighted just a little to make him feel slightly heavy, real feeling, and irresistible to hold.
