Here is a quick rundown with Christiana Bear’s help of some of the new friends coming and going here on the Moor!
Christiana is a new bear who lives here. I’m still working on her nose to get it just right but she wanted to pose with her friend Maebella before Maebella left to go to her new home.
Hickory Scamperfoot is a sweet Storybook Hare that we made as a swap for this beautiful toy
I couldn’t resist. I just love natural toys! I loved their teethers and rattles, but this made more sense. It stacks and its like 5 teethers in one lol!
Ewey was adopted this week, and is on her way to her new home.
You know Monkeys don’t hang around long, and Marty Monkton is not exception. He left yesterday too!
Bentley is an adorable wool and suede bear custom made for a little boy in Michigan. He wanted to take his mohair scarf along because he heard Michigan can get quite chilly in wintertime.
Wilfred Bearingham is also another very pleasant and well mannered bear custom made, and headed to his new home.
Patter was adopted this week too! He can’t wait to be a good friend to someone very sweet and special.
Rita was adopted too (Rufus said he’d miss her so but he understands)
Rita will be living in a little granddaughter’s nursery, and that is a very special and high calling for a storybook bunny
And Chelsea Fieldmouse was born today and was adopted today too! She’s going to live with our friend Mabel. oops! Looks like Mabel adopted Chelsea when no one was home hee hee! It’s ok, Chelsea doesn’t eat much.
One of our new hedgie pockets went to live with our friend Janie
Our new waldorf style hedgehog toys are completely child friendly and they really flip into a ball!

Whew! Needless to say its been a buuuuuusy last little while! If I left anyone out, I’ll post pics of them soon.
Time to get back to things!

We are also very excited to be able to offer two fun and natural Hardwood Tile Games
Our Natural Alpha Numeric Set features 36 2 inch hardwood tiles, hand sanded and finished with our wonderful smelling beeswax wood cream. The tiles are so smooth, and make such a nice clinking sound when played with, and smell slighly sweet. The beeswax we use is processed at a low temperature to retain its natural quality and scent. We just love it!
You can use the letter tiles to match capital and lower case letters with your pre-reader.
Our number tiles can be used to learn early counting and number recognition, and combine them to learn higher numbers too!
This is our Memory tile game. Young children just love playing memory, and this set is made to last so your children can play with their children someday. Each tile is lovingly hand sanded, hand stamped and rubbed with our beeswax wood cream. Little children love starting with a few pairs and working their way up to the full set of 12 pairs as their memory increases.

Learning games are great ways to spend a few minutes doing something enjoyable and educational with your little one-something we hold dear here. The tiles are simple, vintage inspired toys that are gratifying to little minds and hands.

Games like our educational Hardwood Tiles inspire the creation of other games as little ones play-from simple stacking to anything they can imagine! Our tiles here are used for anything from memory games, to trading games. They have even become cookies at a tea party! :0)

Stop by the Moor Store and take a look-we hope you’ll love them for your little one too!

We have some exciting new projects we just finished that we are so eager to share with you!
We’ve been wanting to make an extra special hedgehog toy for children and finally developed a pattern with a pocket so the hedgehog can roll into a ball!

We made this set of hedgies out of the softest wool/angora blend we could find, and felted the “quills” for texture variation.
Not only is this hedgie a fun toy to roll into a ball, he is fun to toss too! He is just 8 inches tall, but he’s about 10 inches around-simply adorable and huggy, weighted just a little to make him feel slightly heavy, real feeling, and irresistible to hold.

We’ve had some new waldorf lambs and bunnies “born” this week, as well as one waldorf bear named Patter.
We love Waldorf style friends because their sweet faces are uncomplicated and open, friendly, inspiring imaginative play. Simple sweet faces tend to “reflect” the emotion that the child is feeling.

We love when our little ones come to us with their little Waldorf friends (our daughters have waldorf bears). They’ll say “Waffles is hungry” or “Wooby was mad at Caleb because he made him wrestle”. Its so cute!

We now have 2 “Baapy” lambs on the Moor:

Ewey and Jeffey!
We also have two waldorf bunnies:

Baby Rita and Baby Rupert-patterned after our collectible cotterpin jointed pair.
Our baby bunnies and Baapys are made with soft, huggable cotton. Their stuffing is weighted to give them that just right, slightly heavy, “real” feeling when held and carried.
The Baapy lambs have floppy ears, and the bunnies and Patter have floppy ears and arms that are just right for early grasping.
Our waldorf baby animals might be just the right gift for a preemie! They would make a safe, and cheery addition to the isolette, and can be used to prop baby in different sleeping positions. Patterns and easy to see contrasting faces will encourage interest during waking hours.

We made them to be easy to care for. If any of our waldorf animal friends gets soiled, simply place in a pillow case, wash with mild soap on gentle cycle, and dry in low heat, or air dry. Fluff to reshape if needed. Minor soilings need only to be spot cleaned with a cloth and mild soap/damp cloth.

Stop by the Craggy Moor to learn more, and adopt one today!

We love games that are not only naturally beautiful, but also a great way for little minds to learn!
This Waldorf inspired natural tile game is wonderful in so many ways!

Included in this game are (36) 2 inch square natural wood tiles, hand sanded super smooth and stamped right here on the Moor with beautiful black typeset numbers and letters (just like they would see in a book! Wonderful for pre reader letter recognition!)
The chunky tiles and pleasing and safe for all ages, and coated with natural beeswax wood lotion.

There are 26 tiles with A-Z in upper case, and a-z in lower case on the reverse.
Also included are 10 number tiles 0-9 with 9-0 on the reverse.

You can have all kinds of fun with your little one while teaching them their numbers and letters!
You can play Upper case/lower case letter matching games, “build” numbers larger than 9, and anything else you can think of!
Your tiles store nicely in a woven cotton drawstring bag-take them with you wherever you go!

You can feel good knowing your child’s play is productive, safe and nurturing.
Handmade is the very best way to say I love you!
Thank you for visiting!
We use natural fiber, new and repurposed materials that we gently care for here on the Moor. Our desire is to make beautiful, meaningful toys that are unique, handmade, and something we’d love to give, and responsible too!

When I opened my eyes the whole world was new! First I saw the soft glowing light from the lamp on the dresser. Then, I felt soft hands turn me this way and that. Then a hug from a small child made me feel cozy and warm. I smelled the delicious smell of morning coffee brewing and heard my name for the first time. What will this wide world bring? I love it already!

Kinder Bearmingham is a wonderfully classic, 5 way cotter pin jointed teddy bear! Made of a beautiful caramel colored wool and perfect for dressing in your favorite outfit, and very sweetly poseable. Kinder’s head turns, and limbs hang and move in different natural ways. This type of wobble jointing technique makes Kinder floppy like a baby, but sturdy and able to go on all sorts of adventures.

Kinder is 11 1/2 inches tall from head to toe, 9 inches sitting.
Kinder has buttery soft, coordinating caramel suede paw pads.

Kinder’s sweet nose and smile are handstitched with black cotton floss. Kinder has lovely amber colored glass safety eyes.
Kinder’s stuffing is weighted with pebbles for a pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling when held.
Kinder’s joins are hardwood disks, with extra strong galvanized steel cotter pins we made right here on the Moor.
Kinder is one of a kind, individually made, and perfect for young and old alike. Kinder is a neutral bear, ready to be dressed as a girl or a boy.

Do you love making doll clothes? Kinder is the perfect bear for you to add to your collection, or give as a gift with your own personal touch!
Kinder will come lovingly packaged with a card dated and signed by the artist.

UPDATE!! Sandy has been adopted by Anja and is getting ready to travel to Massachusetts bright and early tomorrow morning!
******************************************************************************************************************
Sandy Bearington sat and thought. Today was a new day, and the sun was streaming in the curtains. What would today’s adventure be? A story, a walk in the woods? First he must ask his person for a sip of tea…
We love Sandy. He embodies all the loveable classical aspects of an old style bear. He’s a 5 way jointed teddy bear made of a beautiful caramel colored wool. Rupert Rabbit joined his sister Rita today on the Moor. They are a very sweet, huggable, poseable pair. As soon as Rupert was finished both patchwork hares jumped up and down on my bed, and then scampered away to have some fun…haven’t seen them since lol! If you adopt one or both of these sweethearts, you’ll have your hands full!

Henley and Pemberton arrived safe and sound at their new home and they have a new blog! It’s going to be so much fun reading about their adventures, as they enjoy their new life.

As you can see, they are already hanging around the place having fun!
We are very excited to send Tilly Woolmouse to Italy tomorrow!! She is going to be a friend to a little girl named Federica (what a lovely name!) but sssshhhh Tilly needs to hide till Christmas! Tilly is so excited, I hope she doesn’t pop out of hiding too early!
Tilly has a few sisters, newly born. They are already adopted!(thank you so much!!) We are just telling them about the wonderful new places they’ll be traveling to. We’ll post pics when they are finished and ready to go.
Some more of our Craggy Moor Friends got in touch with us, and told us about their blog too!
Grabel and Jenny Woolmouse wanted to tell us and you about their new adventures! You can read about them here
Autumn days are busy days here on the Moor but we LOVE it! Big thank you’s and hugs to our newly adopted Craggy Moor Friends, and especially to the wonderful folks who adopted them!!
There are new bears, hares, and lambs in the works this week too. Check back often to see who pops up!

Rita Rabbit seems to have hopped right off the page of a favorite childhood classic! She’s 10 inches tall from head to foot, 15 inches from eartip to toe! She’s made of a wonderful buttercream colored cotton with sweetly matching cotton calico accents. She has a bit of super soft angora on her muzzle too!
Her stuffing is weighted to give her that nice, slightly heavy, “real” feel we love so much.

Rita’s sweet nose and smile are handstitched with cotton floss. Her eyes are pretty amber tigers eye stone beads.

Like all good rabbits, Rita has a sweet cotton tail, made of white cotton yarn.
Rita is a very special rabbit because she is delightfully poseable. She is 5 way cotter pin jointed with hardwood disks and our own galvinized steel handmade cotter pins. They have proven to be much more durable than a standard cotter pin!

We love the “wobble joint” set up because it makes Rita floppy and huggy like a baby, but sturdy, and so much fun to carry and pose.
Rita Rabbit is one of a kind, and individually made. Each of our Rabbits have their own sweet look-perfect for gift giving or add Rita to your own Warren of sweet animal friends!
Coming soon! Rita’s brother Rupert!
Because Rita has small parts, please use your discretion when buying for children under age 3.

Handmade is the very best way to say I love you!
Thanks so much for visiting!
Rita is up for adoption today!
