On the Moor

Nestled in his mama’s care, or skipping across the Moor, Soot Woolyfoot is a happy little lamb. He loves to nibble the delicate purple clover dotting the green grasses, and play “king of the hill” with his lambie cousins. Soot loves to wander too! His little tinkling bell is often heard just on the other side of the old wood fence.

Soot Woolyfoot is 9 inches tall from head to hoof, 6 inches sitting. He’s made of creamy soft cotton repurposed sweater material with a wonderful, thick texture. Soot’s hooves, muzzle and ear linings are a beautiful,charcoal colored velvetty wool that contrasts Soot’s coat very nicely.

Soot’s sweet face is handstitched with black cotton floss, and his eyes are pretty, shining black glass beads.

Soot is string tied and button jointed with folksy little handmade square wood buttons. They give a charming and whimsical touch to his sweet and classic features.

Everyone knows this time of year all kinds of little mousies appear. The Craggy Moor is no exception!A special kind of scratching in my sewing box this morning brought the discovery of a sweet little patchwork mouse who calls himself Squeaklin Woolworth. He has a love of all things shiny, and was found quite hapilly nestled among the tempting, burnished vintage buttons!

Squeaklin is 9 inches tall, 6 inches sitting. He’s made of super soft repurposed sky blue wool, interwoven with delicate strands of cream. His cute little pointed muzzle and paw pads are accented with buttery caramel colored cotton velvet.

Squeaklin’s adorable oversized ears, and little knotted tail are coordinating slate and sky blue paisley cotton with a beautiful pattern.

Squeaklin is all natrual on the outside-every surface that would touch tender skin is made of all natural wool and cottons.

On the inside he’s stuffed with hypoallergenic, premium quality clusterfluff, and a touch of dry lavender.
Squeaklin also has steel bbs deep within his tummy and feet to make him pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling.

Squeaklin’s limbs are securely string tied and button jointed with 6 strand cotton floss and beautiful pearly white shell buttons.

We heard a rustling in the pantry early this morning, and the soft tink, tink of glass jars shifting. I peaked around the corner to find a velvet bear helping herself to the honey! A sheepish (or should I say bearish) grin, and two bright eyes shone back at me-Mabel Bearington had come to pay us a visit!

Mabel is an adorable, huggably soft, chocolate brown velvet bear. Her muzzle, ear linings and paw pads are a soft and beautiful caramel suede.

Mabel has lovely crested metal buttons at her joints that coordinate so nicely and give her a pleasing old fashioned look.

Baxter Herringbone skipped onto the Moor looking for turnip greens, an adventure or two, enticed by the sweet smell of buttery cabbage (that’s the very best way to catch a herringbone hare you know!)

Baxter is 9 inches tall, and about 6 inches sitting. He’s made of a wonderfully textured, old fashioned herringbone wool suit coat material. His ears and paws are lined with a coordinating soft cotton plaid. The beautiful muted blues, mustards and tans of the plaid brings out the subtle, interwoven shades of grey and brown in Baxter’s tweedy fur so well. He’s full of vintage charm from his sweetly oversized ears to is adorable oversized feet.

Randall hops lazily among the ferny fiddleheads as the dew settles gently on the grasses in the family garden, dampening his paws. He notices the sun rising slowly in the east-he must hurry back into the house and up the stairs and under the quilt before his best friend awakens and misses him!

Randall is a sweet little grey wool/cashmere blend hare with real old fashioned appeal. He’s 9 inches tall, 6 inches sitting. He is so soft, and has that sturdy, uncomplicated, best friend quality about him that we love in the best of stuffed friends. He has a cute little smile and comical oversized ears to add to his whimsical, folksy look.

His ears are lined with plaid cotton that he also has on his paws. Its a homey, country inspired plaid with muted lines of cerulean,and mustard on a carolina blue background.

Kerry Pendleton is a sweet grey wool teddy bear with big jug handle ears perfect for listening and keeping secrets!

Kerry is a very special bear, because the Pendleton Woolen Mills have closed here over the last few years, and he’s made from a soft wool/cashmere blend blazer from a Pendleton Woolen Mill. We love this wool for bear making and

sewed the old fashioned embroidered Pendleton tag to Kerry as a loving tribute to their beautiful wool.

Kerry Pendleton is 10 inches tall from head to toe, 7 inches sitting. He has button joints decorated with a lovely shell button on each limb.

Kerry’s firmly stuffed with high loft, premium quality polyfil, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough steel bb’s deep within his stuffing to make him quite pleasingly heavy, and “real” feeling.

Barclay Bainbridge wandered onto the Moor early this morning, drawn by the soft scent of scones floating on the air. How could we resist such a sweet face? He ate his fill, folded his napkin in quite the gentlemanly way, and thanked us quite amiably. He has wonderful personality and so many stories to tell! He had one favor to ask- you see, Barclay is just passing through, looking for a home and could we find him one?

Barclay is 50% teddy bear, 50% polar bear, and 100% loveable! His name means “birch trees by the white bridge” in old english/gaelic. He’s 10 inches tall, 7 inches sitting, with adorable oversized feet!

He’s made of wonderfully soft, thick and creamy cotton sweater material. His muzzle, ear and paw linings are a coordinating, buttery, coffee-with-cream suede.

He’s stuffed with high quality polyester fiberfil, a touch of lavender, and just enough steel bb’s deep within his stuffing to make him pleasingly heavy, and oh so huggable!

Benny Bear ate all his peanut butter waffles (with syrup also please) and dashed out to the swing set this morning to have some fun. He loves adventure, sweet treats, and most of all- hugs! But hold him tight when he rides the swings with you-he’s a little afraid of heights!

Benny is a super soft, incredibly huggable waldorf style black bear cub. He’s 9 inches tall sitting, 12 ½ inches tall from head to toe. He’s made from repurposed (gently cared for here on the Moor) charcoal colored wool sweater material. It has just a touch of angora, just enough to make him irresistible to cuddle! Benny’s paw and ear linings and muzzle are made of equally soft and loveable chocolate brown cotton knit.

Benny is stuffed with soft, lofty, premium quality hypoallergenic polyester fiberfill so he can be washed in the washer ( tie him in a pillow case, wash in cool water, short wash, fluff to dry). He also has a few double washed pebbles deep within his tummy stuffing to make him pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling.
