On the Moor

Patton Bearington is a sweetheart of a teddy bear. His colors, patterns and beautiful vintage crested metal buttons inspired us to think of the 1940’s. Love of country was strong, and goals were sure. A loveable bear might have been made for a child out of Daddy or Grandpa’s worn, velvet jacket with its beautiful brass buttons. A special bear like this might have comforted a small heart when times were tough and souls were determined.

These thoughts inspired the creation of our Patton!

Patton is 11 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches sitting. He’s made of lovely chocolate brown cotton velvet. His ears and paws are lined with beautiful scarlet plaid flannel.

Patton’s stuffed with our favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of calming dry lavender, and a few steel bb’s deep inside his tummy and feet to give him that irresistible “real” feel that’s so nice to hold.

Patton has beautiful shining amber glass safety eyes. His sweet face is handstitched with black cotton floss. He has a cute little nose and an endearing smile!

Patton has beautifully created vintage metal buttons from our vintage button collection. They are securely sewn with 6 strand cotton floss.

Due to his small parts, please use your discretion when buying for the very young. Patton is a collectible and not intended for rough play.

Patton would also make a fun and unique birthday or other special occasion gift as well. His velvet fur is so soft to touch, and he’s firmly stuffed- He’s just the right feel for an old fashioned bear. Even the young at heart will love Patton’s folk art charm.

Meet Pemberton Bearington! Full of old fashioned family values and charm, he’s a fun loving bear with alot of love to give!

Pemberton is made of wonderfully soft,wool/cashmere blend material (repurposed and gently cared for here on the Moor) so reminiscent of the sturdy, loveable old bears we remember so well. His ears and paws are lined with a lovely,periwinkle/sage/grey country plaid cotton. The soft pattern adds to his yesterday appeal.

Pemberton is stuffed with wool and wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and steel bb’s in his tummy and feet to make him pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling.

Pemberton has jointed limbs and adorable handmade wooden game tile buttons. They add even more whimsy to his already sweet and folksy features.

Pemberton’s face is handstitched with black cotton floss. He has pretty, shining jet bead eyes with lovely highlights of navy and medium blue.

Pemberton is 11 1/2 inches tall from head to toe, about 8 inches tall sitting. He would make a wonderful friend to anyone over the age of 8. He’s firmly stuffed and securely sewn, but please use your discretion when buying for young ones, due to his small parts. He is not intended for rough play.

We’ve made two new, adorable lambs here on the Craggy Moor this week!

Sarah Shropshire, (12 inches tall from head to hoof) is a cotter pin or “wobble” jointed sheep with a wonderful floppy, poseable nature so endearing in those old fashioned stuffed animal friends we remember and love. She is made of lambswool in a pretty cafe au lait color with deliecate varigated mocha and cream colors.  She is stuffed with our favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough steel bb’s to make her pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling.

Sarah’s ear linings and the bottoms of her hooves and lining of her cute little tail are country plaid homespun in warm autum tones that pair so nicely with her lambswool.

Sarah’s sweet face is handstitched with chocolate brown cotton floss. Her eyes are amber colored glass safety eyes.

And Meet Sarah’s lamb Ewey!

 Ewey Shropshire is 6 inches tall, with 4 inch long legs. She’s made of all the same beautiful fabrics that Sarah is. Ewey is button jointed, with beautiful flower shaped vintage metal buttons from our vintage button collection.  They have such a lovely yesterday feel and style, that pairs well with Ewey’s own old fashioned looks.

Ewey’s little face is handstitched with chocolate and mustard colored cotton floss and her  sweetly shining eyes are beautiful navy jet beads with subtle navy and medium blue highlights.

Sarah and Ewey are such a cute pair, but they are also for sale individually.  They are collectibles, and though they are sewn securely, they are not suitable for children under the age of 12.

Meet Primrose Thistledown!

Soft and sweet, she ambles down the lane, sniffing the lavender, tasting the clover, waiting for her friends to awake and the adventures to begin!

Made of “primrose blue” cotton velveteen, and pretty calico cotton floral,Primrose is an adorable bunny friend. She’s sweetly reminiscent of special old fashioned friends, with much love and a touch of whimsy.

Primrose is about 10 inches tall head to toe, 6 inches sitting. Her floral cotton lined ears are 6 inches long. The same pretty cream and blue floral lines her paws,muzzle and tail giving her a delightfully whimsical and folksy appearance.

Primrose is stuffed with 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and a few steel bb’s to make her pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling.

Her limbs are jointed with beautiful old vintage metal flower buttons from our vintage button collection.

Back at the Blackberry bush in the far corner of the Moor another bear makes a sweet appearance with the soft rising of the sun. Who can resist a mouthful of sweet ripe blackberries? Certainly not a black bear :0)

Bramble Thornberry is a wonderfully friendly bear with a very sweet disposition. He’s 10 inches tall from head to toe, 7 inches sitting. Bramble’s made of soft and huggable black cotton velvet, with buttery caramel colored suede muzzle, paw pads and ear linings.

Bramble’s stuffed with our favorite: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough steel bb’s deep within his tummy and feet to make him pleasingly heavy and “real”. Bramble is sturdy enough to stand on his own too!

Just the gentlest of rustles disturbs the blackberry bushes as Gracie finds her breakfast. The sun rises, and the air is cool.

Gracie Bearington wandered onto the Craggy Moor and asked us to find her a home!

Gracie is an adorable brown wool bear made from a wool we really love. It’s wonderfully “fur like”, smooth with interwoven fibers of chocolate and caramel brown. Her muzzle, ear linings and paw pads are a soft and beautiful caramel suede.

Gracie has lovely crested metal buttons at her joints that coordinate so nicely and give her a pleasing old fashioned look.

Gracie’s eyes are sweetly shining black glass beads, and her cute nose and smile are hand stitched with black cotton floss.

Gracie is stuffed with our favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough steel bb’s to give her a nice heft and a “real” feel.

Gracie’s about 10 inches tall from head to foot, 7 inches sitting. She has a really nice firm, slightly heavy feel that will make you want to hug and hold her.

Meet Chickory Thistledown! He’s sweet and soft, and the very first Cotter Pin Collectible for sale here on the Craggy Moor!
Chickory is named after the beautiful delicate blue flowers blooming on the Moor right now. He’s 10 1/2 inches tall from head to toe, with about 4 inch ears. He’s made of soft and loveable blue cotton velvet and vintage inspired blue cotton plaid to line his ears and paws. 
 
Our old fashioned cotter pin joints are made of sturdy 1/8 inch thick wood disks, steel cotter pins, and zinc washers.

They make his arms and legs swing and flop slightly, just like those much loved stuffed animals you might find in Grandma’s old cedar chest. 
 
Chickory has a sweet little hand stitched black cotton nose and smile. His eyes are lovely jet shell beads with subtle ribbons of black, blue and smokey grey.

Chickory’s stuffed with the Craggy Moor’s favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and a few steel bb’s deep within his tummy and feet to make him slightly heavy, and pleasingly “real” feeling.

Hoppy and floppy, huggable and loveable, ready to tuck into bed, or go on adventures, Meet Christopher Rabbit!

He’s an adorable addition to the waldorf warren here on the Craggy Moor!

Christopher is 12 inches tall from head to foot. He’s made of thick, soft and smooth slate grey wool/cashmere blend material (repurposed and gently cared for here on the moor). There are hints of darker grey mixed into the slate that make the wool so appealing and fur like in its coloring.

He has wonderful “peek-a-boo” 6 1/2 inch over sized ears just right for holding onto and snuggling, or hiding his cute face for a fun game. He has charming “summer cherry” plaid cotton ear linings that coordinate very nicely with his fur.

His white cotton knit face is handstitched with cotton floss and much love. He even has a sweet, handstitched red flannel heart to match his ears.

Christopher Rabbit is stuffed with the Craggy Moor’s favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender (for snuggling and soothing) and just enough double washed pebbles deep within his tummy to add a pleasing heaviness and “real” feeling to him that little ones enjoy.

Christopher is completely child friendly, and he’s ready to be a new friend to a little one you love.

Another lamb is leaping onto the Moor!

Sweet and soft, sturdy and adventurous, romping in the setting sun, meet Bristol Lambswool! She’s full of the lovely late summer colors we’re seeing here on the Moor.

Bristol is 10 1/2 inches head to hoof, and 7 inches sitting.
She’s made of a beautiful cabled evergreen wool, super soft and wonderfully textured. Her head and hooves are a charming buttered caramel color corduroy coordinating very nicely in both feel and appearance to her pretty evergreen coat. We added some country plaid homespun to her feet and ear linings to further add to her adorable folk art appeal.

(Bristol’s fabrics are carefully chosen, repurposed all natural fibers cared for gently here on the Moor in a smoke free, pet fur free environment)

Bristol Lambswool is jointed with some of our favorite heavy, crested metal buttons from our vintage collection. Her eyes are swirled amber tiger’s eye glass beads.

Bristol’s sweet little nose and mouth are handstitched with 6 strand cotton floss.

We are looking for input on our newest prototype! Nottingham is made like our Craggy Moor Collectibles but he is the first to feature cotter pin joints!

Along with our regular line of button jointed friends, we’d like to add a cotter pin jointed selection. What do you think?

Nottingham is our Prototype. We hope to make storybook style hares, bears and other lambs too!

Nottingham is an all natural collectible toy with old fashioned cotter pin joints. He’s completely natural, stuffed with the Craggy Moor’s favorite stuffing: 100% wool batting, a touch of dry lavender and just enough steel bb’s to make him pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling.
