 Every once in a while we get a truly lovely piece of material that just must be made into something special for you.

This bear is the first of what we hope will be a long running individually made series of extra special friends called “JUST FOR YOU”

These sweet handmade bears, bunnies and lambs will be made of those amazingly soft, cuddly fabrics that won’t be suitable for young children, but are something extra special for the young at heart. JUST FOR YOU friends will be made with our own home designed patterns-simple, waldorf style loveables in the most exceptional all natural fibers we can find.

This is Bartley Bearhardt!

Bartley is made of a wonderfully soft charcoal black angora/lambswool blend repurposed sweater material that just begged to become a black teddy bear! Bartley is accented with sweetly soft cafe au lait colored creamy brown velvet.

Bartley is 8 1/2 inches from his head to his toes (6 inches sitting).

Bartley is stuffed with 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and has triple washed pea gravel in his tummy and feet to give him a nice heavy feel.

Bartley has lovely tiger’s eye glass bead eyes with lovely caramel colors that coordinate nicely with his fur.

Bartley’s face is hand stitched with 6 strand cotton crochet thread.

We love texture variance in our handmade friends here so Bartley has an extra special set of Craggy Moor handmade buttons at his joints. Coffee stained to a dark brown, and hand etched, our buttons are all one of a kind, and they add a woodsy, rustic appeal to Bartley’s black bear looks.

Bartley comes with a card dated and signed by the Artist! He’d make a charming individually made addition to your teddy bear collection. He’d make an endearing gift for someone you love who collects folk art treasures or who just needs a special someone to hug :0)

The week has been quiet at the store but busy on the Moor!! We are getting ready to go to the Ohio Scottish Games Saturday!! Woot!!

We are so excited, its our big family day out for the summer. We are looking forward to all sorts of fun.

This week has been a busy one at the sewing machine too! If you’ve custom ordered an item, its being finished and shipped by Saturday!

And there are some bears, bunnies and sheep also in the works that you are sure to love too, so check back often-there are some new treasured friends on the way next week!!

We also have a new line of Craggy Moor Collectibles coming soon that will be just for you! We’ve found some lovely cashmere and angora blends that just begged to be made into something extra sweet. The fabrics are so lovely but are not always suitable for very young children.  We all need a special friend to hug though! So the first of this adorable series will be out next week. JUST FOR YOU.

This weekend a few new hares were born on the Craggy Moor!

This is Logan Harefoot

And this is Hadley Harefoot!

Logan is a wonderfully old fashioned looking Caramel colored wool/cashmere blend hare made from repurposed materials (gently cared for here on the Moor). He’s full of “old world” charm from his sage and cream plaid lined ears,

to his button joints (Logan’s buttons are handmade wooden buttons made right here on the Moor!), to his little plaid lined tail and paws and his sweet little hand stitched cotton nose.

Logan’s antique brown czech glass eyes sparkle with love for someone special-maybe you or someone you love!

Logan Harefoot is individually made just like all the hares here on the Craggy Moor, and each one has their own unique look and personality.

Logan also comes with a card dated and signed by the Artist so you know you are getting a truly one of a kind friend made with much love.

Then along came little Hadley Harefoot! He’s made with a wonderful softly textured repurposed Shetland Wool. The wool has lovely subtle shades of blue woven into it, which is what really drew us to choose it.

And you can still feel the lanolin in this beautiful used-to-be- sweater material.

Hadley’s ears and paws were lined with the softest, nicest dark slate blue cotton knit that compliments the texture of the wool in a pleasing way.

Hadley has pretty, shining antique brown czech glass eyes, and a matching hand stitched chocolate brown cotton nose. He also has a cute little white cotton yarn, a touch of cabling on his head; hand stitched cotton tail, and sweetly mismatched silver metal buttons at his joints that complete his endearing folk art look. He looks like a little treasure someone pulled out of a cedar chest just for you.

Come meet Hadley and if he “speaks” to you, take him home to be yours.

We had a teddy bear picnic here on the Moor and a few of our bear friends asked if we could find them good homes.

One such bear is Babboo. Babboo is a sweet chocolate brown Waldorf style wool bear with such an loving, friendly disposition. He’s looking for someone special to love him. He does love peanut butter toast he wanted me to tell you; and asked me if I might find him someone who might take him on an adventure or two. (he’s an adventurous sort of bear)

Baboo is 8 inches tall. He’s made of a lovely, soft brown wool that has interwoven strands of deep, dark brown that makes it look very much like real bear fur!

The wonderful thing about wool is that it’s slightly cool when the weather’s warm, and slightly warm when the weather’s cool. He’ll always be huggable, and his light lavender scent is so soothing.

Baboo’s face is hand stitched cotton knit with a soft, velvetty feel. Babboo is stuffed with the Craggy Moor’s favorite stuffing too: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough dry, inert lentils to make him pleasingly heavy and “real” feeling in your hand.

Babboo also has a little cranberry wool heart just bursting with love (you know how teddy bears are so very loving in nature)

Babboo was individually made, like all the bears here on the Moor. You know if you give Babboo to someone you love they are getting a unique little gift that’s just for them.
Best of all, Babboo is completely child friendly! He’s ready to be a best friend to even the tiniest little one.

Look who we found in the carrot patch!

We get so excited over Velveteen Bunnies when they come looking for a home. Meet Sylvia Velveteen!

Sylvia means “from the wooded forest” in Latin. We couldn’t imagine a cuter name for a sweet and soft little bunny.

Sylvia Velveteen is 7 inches tall from head to toe. She is just a baby, having only 3 inch long ears that stick out adorably on each side of her little head.

She’s made of Cafe Au Lait colored brownish grey cotton velvet(repurposed and always gently cleaned). Sylvia’s made in a classic, old fashioned jointed style with whimsically mismatched vintage wood buttons at her joints from our vintage button collection!

Sylvia is firmly stuffed with our favorite Craggy Moor Stuffing too:100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough dry, inert lentils to make her slightly and pleasantly heavy in your hand.

Sylvia’s ears and tail are lined with a soft, cotton candy pink cotton knit. The top of her head is a creamy chamois that compliments the velvet with a nice, texture.

 The insides of her paws and bottoms of her feet are a nice, coordinating caramel colored chamois material. Sylvia has a sweet little hand stitched pink cotton nose to match the lining of her ears just right.

Sylvia’s eyes are tiger’s eye glass beads, securely tied with 6 strand cotton floss. Their amber hues shine against her lighter, misty colored velveteen coat!

Sylvia has such a nice, homey, yesterday appeal. She’s sure to be a lovely, unique gift for someone you love; or a wonderful, loveable addition to your own folk art collection. Everyone who loves bunnies, folk art, or classic stories will enjoy having their own Velveteen friend.

Sylvia has little parts, so please use discretion when buying for children under the age of 3. She’s securely made but not intended for rough play.

Its been a while since a bear has wandered onto the Moor. Sometimes one just longs for the hugs that a teddy bear gives so well.

This is Willard! He’s a fun and loveable Waldorf Style teddy bear made from a brand new pattern designed here on the Craggy Moor. He has outstretched arms and a friendly face just waiting for a hug, and that just right person to make him their own.

Willard is 9 1/4 inches tall, and was made from a super soft, almost velvetty cotton knit in a pretty charcoal grey color. His tummy, muzzle and ear linings are a wool/cashmere blend in a warm capuccino brown. His cute oversized nose is a bit of chocolate brown cotton velveteen; and he has our cranberry wool felt heart sewn with much love.

All Willard’s detailing was hand sewn with cotton floss. He’s completely child friendly!

Willard’s stuffed with brand new 100% wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough dry, inert lentils to make him pleasantly heavy in the hand. We stuffed Willard extra firm to make him even more huggable! He’s hard to put down!

Sage colored bunnies hop onto the Craggy Moor every once in a while and do you know how hard it is to catch a sage colored bunny? They are hard to spot, but they can always be enticed with an oatmeal cookie and a cup of tea :0)

This is Katie! Katie is a sweet little Waldorf Style bunny made of a huggable sage green cotton knit with flecks of evergreen. Her cute little handstitched face is made of oatmeal colored cotton chamois. The soft, textured chamois gives her face a charming contrast to her soft and smooth cotton body.

Katie was stuffed with our favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough dry, inert lentils to make her pleasingly heavy in the hand.

Katie’s ears are lined with a whimsical leaf patterned cotton flannel to further give her a “from the woods” look.

Katie also has a little cranberry wool felt heart full of love for that special little friend she’s just waiting for.

Meet Glenna Gotland! She’s brand new here on the Craggy Moor.

Glenna is a loveable, leggy little lamb. She’s been running all over the Moor but we managed to coral her long enough to get some pictures! Glenna is sweet and spunky, about 6 inches tall, when sitting. Head to hoof, Glenna is 8 3/4 inches.

Glenna is made of 100% cotton repurposed (gently cleaned)sweater material that’s been knit with paired strands of extra fine, black and white cotton yarn.

Glenna’s face, lower legs and hooves are 100% wool, (repurposed and gently cleaned).

Glenna is stuffed with the Craggy Moor’s favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough dry lentils to make her slightly and pleasingly heavy in the hand.

Look at Glenna’s ears! We couldn’t resist adding a lining of lavender embroidered wool to give them a storybook, whimsical look. Glenna even has a touch of soft pink cashmere lining her little tail.

Glenna Gotland has jointed limbs, secured with charming old fashioned style metalized buttons and 6 strand cotton floss. Glenna has sparkling black czech glass eyes.

We all remember the well-loved story. The idea that a stuffed bunny is loved so much that it becomes “real” is the kind of love we put into each of our stuffed friends here on the Moor. We’ve been looking around for velveteen that’s made of natural materials and we finally found some!

This is one of our interpretations of the Velveteen Rabbit. We hope you love him as much as we do!

This is Dexter. He’s about 7 1/2 inches tall (with 3 1/2 inch long ears) made of Cotton Velveteen, with 100% cotton knit accents (all repurposed, and gently cared for in a smoke free, pet fur free home).

Dexter’s face and tummy are made of no fray cotton knit, he’s a unique and fun variation on our classic Waldorf Style Bunnies!

Dexter has soft,brown velvet ears, perfect for snuggling and perfect for a little one to hold against their cheek.

He even has a sweet little wool felt heart handstitched and full of love.

We stuffed Dexter with our favorite stuffing: 100% brand new wool batting, a touch of dry lavender, and just enough dry inert lentils to make each bunny slightly and pleasantly heavy in the hand. His sweet face was lovingly handstitched with cotton thread. Dexter even has an adorable cotton tail made from 100% cotton yarn and handstitched to him.

His little cranberry wool felt heart is just full of love and ready to beome “real” to you, or a special little one in your life.
